We recently (May) had a new wood burner fitted and have had approx 20-30 fires going since without issue. However the last two have resulted in smoke leaking from the top of the stove pipe. Unlike the bottom section which is sealed with fire cement this isn't sealed (see photo attached) or doesn't seem to be but this is the first time it's caused issues. Am I doing something wrong? Could I seal it with high temp resistant silicon?

Any help or advice appreciated!

Matt

Have the chimney and chimney cap checked for plugging.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. We actually had the chimney removed and had a twin wall flue fitted so guess it can't be any plugging in it?

Matt
Matt, is this the first fire since switching to the twin-wall flue or is this after 20-30 fires in the new flue? Is there a screened cap on top of the chimney?
