I bought a Vermont encore wood stove new. I just got the Selkirk DSP80TR 8" oval to 8" round single wall for the connection to the stove. I now want to reduce it to 6". I bought a 8" to 6" reducer. The problem I have is the reducer will not fit over the Selkirk. Do I need a different reducer?

Since it's all new, trade that oval flue collar for a round 6" one. What you have in mind sounds like it'll look messy, I'd trade the flue collars.
