I'll ask what's probably a dumb question: Is there any reason stove pipes that come off the top of the stove go up, hit a 90, and then go straight back to the crock? Wouldn't two 45's be slightly less restrictive?
Yep, if you have room, they are less restrictive. If the draft is strong enough, then the 90's not a big issue. But if things are border line (short chimney) then 2-45's is a smart thing to try.
