Rumbling grumbling

Hello out there, hoping to get an answer to a nagging problem. I have a quadrafire mount vernon e2 pellet stove and on setting of two and higher there is an annoying rumbling when at these higher settings.
The flue uses an existing lined chimney that is 6", 22 ft highthat was used by a old wood stove. It comes out of the wall and I have a 90 degree elbow looking down into a 6x3 factory reducing fitting that sits on top of a top vent adapter that also is factory. I suspect the 6x3 reducer but not sure , any ideas?

You will get more replies if you post this in the general stove section instead of the pellet section :)
