Planning on installing a new retrofit Zero Clearance Fireplace in a framed bump out towards the center of the house.

I can find all the components for an insulated pipe install from the ZC straight through the ceiling and out to the roof deck.

Fire Stop and Insulation Shield:
ZC Fireplace -> Anchor Plate -> Pipe -> Firestop and Insulation Shield -> Roof Flashing -> Cap

BUT... do I need a square support box at the ceiling and then how would you attach the ZC Fireplace to the ceiling box - with an adjustable insulated pipe? Or am I overthinking this?

What model are you planning to install? That model’s installation manual will tell you what you need for venting.

In this case I'm considering purchasing the Supreme Astra 24.

But it might be too small for ~2000sq ft single story, 8ft ceilings, but not sure.

I am also considering:

- Pacific Energy FP25
- Superior WRT3920 (maybe the WCT4920)
- Supreme Astra 32
- RSF Focus 3600
- Ambiance Elegance 36

ZC fireplaces typically are the "support". The chimney pipe usually attaches directly to a collar specific to the required chimney brand on the fireplace. The chase should have a fire block at the fireplace room's ceiling height.

Definitely read the manual thoroughly for details on the required chimney pipe and installation requirements.
