Hello everyone, this is my first post, im glad to find the forum.
I live in Texas just south of Dallas and will be building a new home starting hopefully in March.
My home is basically a rectangle cut up in three sections. The left section is a 600sqft gameroom with like a 10ft ceiling. The Middle section is a large living room around 700sqft with a high ceiling and open loft on one side. Then the other 1/3 of the house is all the bedroom/baths etc.
Basically what im wanting to do is have a nice efficient see-through wood burning fireplace installed in the wall seperating the gameroom and living room. I've done lots of research and find out those type of units were almost non existant due to issues with their function and draft problems. I was pretty much giving up on the thought untill i went to a hearth house here in dallas. They told me the same problems with all wood see throughs that i had research but then told me a company finally made one that "works" and is EPA approved.
They pointed me toward the Supreme Opus, which one a Vesta award for best fireplace in 09.
They told me it was pretty much the only seethrough EPA approved non-catalytic fireplace that they would recommend due to its quality etc. here is the link: (broken link removed to http://www.supremem.com/opus_see-through_fireplace.php)
Only thing though is im not sure if they have many or any customers that have one to call to reference.....
Does anyone have any knowledge of this unit or have any input for me. Im big on research and reviews, especially on something like this for our home. Turns out i really can't find any reviews or info on this model and very few on the company in general really. The reviews i did find for the company were good... only found 2 though.
I was hoping to run into someone here that could fill me in on this option. It looks great but im a little reluctant to jump into a unit like this with not much backup info on it.
