Swapping a double for single window?

We are considering some bigger wood fireplaces which all have double windows. The Opel 3 and Fireplace x 36 have single windows. Does anyone know of others on bigger zero clearance inserts? Or is it an option to swap out the front glass on any? We are looking at above 3.0 cubic ft fireplaces.

Very large fireplace doors are often made with double doors due to the weight of the door and the leverage it puts on the hinges. Valcourt makes some trick fireplaces with a guillotine style door that are quite large. Frontenac and Antoinette.

We really like the layfayette- you're right it's very nice looking. There are no dealers anywhere near us and we are a little leary about buying off internet. One restriction we have is we need a fireplace with a 6" flue beacause of the crazy jogging the pipes have to do. Do you know of any bigger ones that have a 6" flue. Right now we are looking at the Monetecito Estate beause we could see it in person and liked the look but I worry it's not big enough. Also wish there were a valcourt dealer here. Any ideas about a larger unit with a 6" flue would be super appreciated.

You can only push so much through a 6" flue. The largest fireplaces will have an 8" or larger chimney. the Montecito Estate is a classic fireplace that has been around for a long time.

Shoot sorry i meant to say we are looking at/ stuck with (lol) the montecito ( not estate) . It's smaller but has a smaller flue which we are needing to accommodate because otherwise we need to drill a hole in our roof. I love the way the monecito doesn't have too much metal in the faceplace, but it's only 2.0 cubic feet which seems small to me . It's so funny how the more research you do on these stoves , the more you realize how few options you have . Our current parameters/desires:

1. Zero clearance insert - (hubby still pulling for free- standing)
2. 6" flue
3. Single window door
4. Heats about 2,500 SF
5.Flush insert

The monecito fits this (well my husband thinks he can get it to heat more that it says with our dry seasoned oak here )

I'm still not sure...it's killing me to think there's a better option that I just don't realize now and once we put it in we are locked into to this. It feels like a really big decision! Based on the above parameters, anymore come through mind?

I really wish we had a Valcourt person here (in Lake Tahoe, CA area).

2 cu ft is too small for that requirement. There are several ~3 cu ft fireplaces that have 6" flues. Once the size gets above about 3.5 cu ft they tend to require 8" or larger.

And I found one that you oringinally recommended! PE30 is 3.0 cubic feet and 6 " flue venting . We have a dealer about 30 min away
