telescoping pipe not fitting

Can I crimp the end that is suppose to fit down into stove ? been wrestling this thing for an hour .it is Simpson DVL close connector Thanks. On another note Dealer helped me out and burnt the stove for 2 hours before delivering.
 
you need part number 8680 or 8679. They are both stove adapters, one has a damper and one doesnt.
 
It says the iinside diameter is 5 5/8 on this adapter. seems like it would be a very loose fit?
 
the adapter tapers to use with steel flue collars that are on the kuma line. It tapers from 5-5/8 -> 6.
