I finally decided to try out the temp mode on the serenity last night and today. It's working pretty well...seems to be keeping the temperature within 1 degree of what I set it at. I have had it in manual mode since I got it. Don't know why I was hesitant to try it.

Glad to hear that temp. mode works OK. I too have been using only the manual mode so far. In fact I've only run it on #1 as the fall/early winter temps. have been so warm this year. I have cranked the manual setting up just to see how it runs and I did leave it on #2 for a bit (#5 is like a blast furnace).

What I like about it is that it turns the fan speed up and down...seems to really balance the heat better in the house....it turned it up to 5 for a few seconds when I raised the temp setting then dropped it back down to 3 then to 1.
