Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for all the information folks have posted on here. Early this spring I downsized to a ranch home that had of all things a kerosene monitor heater for heat. With kerosene at 3.99 a gallon I decided I needed another source of heat. I was never really a fan of pellet stoves with the mindset that here in Maine I could always find a place to get wood for the cost of my labor and gas but after getting the house I decided to do some research...and I did a lot. Englander stoves were part of my research and some of the reviews I read on the big box store sites kind of put me off a bit, but then I found this site and I read a lot of good things about Englanders. I also discovered am-fm energy through this site and finally decided on a 10 cpm which I got from them. I was very happy with the price, especially after recently seeing it at Home Depot for 2289. My wife and I were able to get it in the house and onto the hearth pad and we got the selkirk pellet vent installed. I did a dry run and everything operated as it was supposed to and a couple of nights ago it finally got cool enough to give it a test fire and everything worked great - I'm now looking forward to cool weather and the warmth from the pellet stove - Thanks for all the information on here!!
