Is there such thing as a thermo controlled switch to plug your blower into cutting it on and off automaticlly? For instance the blower on a 13nc?

They make a reostat (spelling) that has a snap disc on it to cut the blower when it gets cool. Someone who has it will chime in shortly and give you the link.

A line-voltage thermostat is a fairly standard hardware-store item. Easy to find online as well.

I have used the StoveStat for 25 years. The first one finally came apart after 21 years stuck to the side of a stove that frequently burned around 1,000 degrees with no fire bricks in it.

The new one is on the side of my 30-NC which I do not plan to burn that hot.

I thought it was you that used it on a similiar stove.

Here in one that you can mount to the stove pipe or to the stove. I had one on our old stove and it worked just great turning on a small fan.

What I'm doing is wiring my stove blower and a cold air return duct fan into one of the thermostats below. When the room temps gets warm from the stove being on, the blowers will kick on automatically. After the fire goes out and the room cools, my blowers will turn themselves off. Simple, cheap, and effective... :)

This one you're have to wire up...

Or the following is programmable and already has the plug socket in it.

I have the same one as BroB. Going on 4 or 5 years now. Works as advertised. You may have to move it around a bit in the beginning to find the "sweet spot" of when you want it to turn on/off, but that is quite simple.

This item has the Jags stamp of approval.

I have one too and it works pretty well. Maybe keeps the fan on a little too long. I should do something about the clutter of wires though.

thanx all very helpful
