Is thermodisc supposed to be installed directly under pilot area? My daughter’s is on her gas fireplace. Blower cycles very often with only pilot light active. Wondering if ok to move the disc somewhat further from directly under the pilot. Sorry if this is the wrong area for this question…

The thermodisk is generally located on a threaded stud which holds it to the bottom of the firebox& doesn’t allow for repositioning. What fireplace does your daughter have?

Model B35NT fireplace, which seems to be a Napoleon. The thermodisc pictured here seems to be magnetically attached to the underside of the firebox (no stud, bolts or screws. It does contact the metal almost directly under the pilot flame area. I moved it temporarily for photo.
