I was wondering if anyone has any recomendations for a nice thermostat for my Quadra-Fire Castile Insert? The thermostat that came with it is a little on the cheap side. I would like to find one that has a digital read out and if possible be able to set my oil system temp off of the same thermostat. Any recomendations or advise would be huge!! Thanks!

Simple search will reveal a lot of results.

But a Lux 500 pr 1500 is a great choice. Hunter makes a good one too. Just make sure it has a good swing setting.

I've had the same question and done tons of research on it. I have an Englander stove and wanted to run it off a thermostat with a temp of 68 and use the oil furnace as back up if the temp drops to 62 and maintain it at 62.

Can get around the 24 vs millivolt using a relay. However, it seems like the thermostats will do what ever it takes to hold one set temp including running both at the same time.

So far it seems the only way I can come up with is to run two thermostats or make one.

I like 4° for On/Off operation. (Or swing of 2° each way) Say the stat is set at 70°. Then it kicks off at 72° and comes back on at 68°. That keeps the stove from kicking on and off all the time. Running on Hi/Low I would stay closer to 2° total (69° on and 71° off). Lux 1500 would be my choice.

I use a LUX TX1500E with my Quad CB1200i. Works great! No issues and haven't replaced batteries yet (10 months so far)
