I don't rush into my end-of-season cleaning ......rainy, damp, raw, wind off the water mid 40's ............. just started the fire .....................
Yup it is that time of yearHouse was 69 when I got home yesterday afternoon, the skies were gloomy and had been windy all day. Started up both stoves before the sun went down. Frosty this morning and probably the next couple of mornings. Should get solar heating today so turned the thermostat temp way down, but will be turning it back up tonight. Maybe by 4th of July I'll be able to turn them off until fall.
Being new to the game I would suggest a good cleaning (including sweep) and inspection. Doing so will confirm or deny the proper operation of the stove. It is amazing how some folks are taken back when they see the results from a month or so of burning. Everything from clean as a whistle to darn near plugged has been reported and you don't really know where you land until you do a sweep and inspection.
Get his/her feed back. Good job? stove running good? That kind of thing. Also, watch what they do. You may decide in the future that this is a DIY project...or maybe not.Okay great, I just called and set up a inspection/cleaning with the dealer I bought the stove from. Appreciate the help.
