Thank you all for an interesting heating season on this forum. Today is my last burn
Tomorrow I will do a complete teardown and cleaning on Sunday, we will leave for
our summer home. Where I will spend my days drinking beer and fishing. Finally, full
retirement. Just remember to clean your stoves completely, put damp rid in the firebox.
Seal your chimney from birds and other critters, also you OAK if you have one . See you
all in the fall

Still burning here. At least on the sunny days the stove doesn't need to run.

Have fun during you summer home adventures. Full retirement - congrats!

Congratulations on your retirement! Enjoy drowning the worms! Have a cold one for me!

Congratulations on the retirement. Have a great summer.

Well Earned brotha!! Enjoy and teach the younger one about harman’s 🤣🤣 See ya in the fall! 😎

Retired 10 years ago, still seem to have stuff to do every day. Fishing sounds good use to do alot of it but now can't get around well enough. Enjoy it while you can.

17 F last night oil furnace was running every 30 minutes. Started pellet stove back up looks like it will run at least until Thursday. Cold weather just not leaving the northeast.

Are you Canuck's allowed to have more than one home? Doesn't that increase your carbon footprint?

Just kidding. Congratulations. I'm still about 20 years away from that.

I'm also burning for at least a couple hours per day here, mostly in the mornings, as we've had frost nearly every day lately. We sure could use a few days of sunshine strung together!

42* was my high temp yesterday. today is supposed to be the warmest day for the next week. Supposedly supposed to get in the 60s and then drop the rest of the days. It will be iteresting to see if that actually happens - and if it does, if it lasts more than 10 minutes.

Welp…a ton of rain coming and most likely some snow out here in the western Canadian Rockies…had the stove prepped for a tear down and some new paint…but alas it’s fired up as we’re at 5c/40f-ish and it’ll drop I’m sure…I’ll post pics if we get a dump of snow.

I was thinking about putting the P43 to rest until next season, but when I saw the forecast for yesterday, decided to wait. Got a bunch of well needed rain and it was in the 30's until the system passed in the afternoon where it got near 50. I personally did not see any snow, but people in my town and surrounding towns were reporting some white stuff falling. I did see what appeared to be a mix of rain and sleet, but the ground is too warm and it melted right away. It is currently 37* this morning and the stove is running.

So yeah it snowed a bit

used to do the P61A in one shot but my joints dont agree anymore so i do it in sections now.. 2 maybe 3 areas get cleaned each day.

Finally got around to doing a deep clean on my stove this past weekend. Made sure to remove the rubber line to the vacuum switch this time before firing up the leaf blower!

Not crazy about how much ash was in the exhaust blower area, next year I won't get those pellets I got a "deal" on from a local wood processor.

This just jaunted my memory that I need to plug the stove back up to power and take pics of my settings. Last year when I unplugged it I lost some of my settings and it took me a while to get it right again over the season.

i use leaf blower also but opening the door does same affect as disc the switch..

That was how I did it for years, until last year when my door accidently got sucked shut while I was outside cleaning the pipe and it killed my vacuum switch. From now on I will just spend the extra 2 minutes to take the hose off while doing my deep cleaning.

That is what I do too.

I stick the cleaning tool in between the door and the frame so it can't fully close. I can see how if I fail to do that, it might cause problems. But, at the same time, I would assume that the OAK should open up to allow for enough air flow. Perhaps I am mistaken in that assumption.

I intentionally open and close the door to create different air pressures. I have never unhooked vacuum switch. Never had a problem in 19 years. Maybe my leaf blower is not strong enough? Maybe I just jinxed myself ==c

I have an OAK and I still get mad suction with my leaf blower. When I have my leaf blower hooked up it sounds like a jet engine in the stove, I get crazy vacuum, which is good for sucking stuff out, bad if the door closes and the pressure builds up more than the OAK can handle.

I removed the flapper on my oak years ago, will leave the hopper closed, open and close the door, no vacuum switch loss in 10yrs, I do use a high pressure nozzle as well when o deep clean
