Well, we all made it through another year if we're reading this. Congrats!

Here in the eastern US we had a nasty time of it in the early months (February being a beast) but the fall and winter through end of 2015 have been downright balmy. From start of the burn season in October through the end of December we burned 54 bags across two stoves, compared to 88 last year. Big savings, and fewer stove cleanings.

How did you fare, pellet wise?

I have only burned 20 bags through Dec. 31st with 2 stoves.

Similarly to Wilbur.... 78 used in two stoves..Usually use about 115 in this same time frame. We have used no oil and maybe 30 minutes of propane to take the chill off in the morning...Stoves weren't even used for 4-5 days last month.

...through end of 2025...

Great. Now I've got this song in my head...

In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find

only used 2 bags so far out of 3 1/2 tons so far. Starting to use them more but wife is going through hot flashes so even she doesn't want it on all the time.

I have no idea how much I have used and don't care
I like to be warm so a bag goes into stove I am warm
repeat. Clean once a week add a bag repeat . Do you see a pattern
add a bag keep warm I do like to be warm ==c

Holy cow, I'm glad I fixed that. Grim! Go hum that "Happy, happy, happy" song that was out a year or two ago to yourself. It's a holiday. Enjoy!

Yeah, my wife used to turn all white then pass out , crash on the floor and stuff. She never was quick moving, so to lay down before she went out wasn't on her radar. Women are wired way weird. It's good to be passed that stuff but then there are other things cropping up for both of us. This getting old and being retired stuff is ok if you don't look back a whole lot to more Prime Years..

Anyway, I think we have burned about 15 bags now. mostly heating with oil and there have been days that didn't run. We were into our second ton at this time last year with pellets only doing the heating.

66 bags compared to 86 last year.

No pellets! Well not exactly, a couple of handfuls each week to restart the stove after cleaning. Otherwise I've used about 800#'s of corn so far this season. Last winter was about 2.5 ton.

I've gone thru about 1.75 tons since September with my two stoves.

However I had the sheetrock torn out on a wall shared by the garage (had insulation and sheetrock on the other side, but still, 18 feet of wall was letting in noticeably cold air), so used extra for the two month it was out. Since I've installed new sheet rock, the consumption for the basement stove has gone down considerably. The warmest December on record didn't hurt any either - although the lack of sheetrock was the main issue.

Incidentally, for me personally at least, Good Bye 2015 !! It's in the memory banks, which is better than re-living it !! High hopes for 2016 ! Hey good start, low oil prices and plenty of pellets around. And while I got the snow blower running right a couple of months ago, we haven't needed it Yet. New Years day is pretty well over and no trip to the hospital with intestinal problems like last year. So things are off to a decent start on Day 1 !

Hope the trend for a better 2016, than 2015, continues for you!

I've had 3 hard years and could use a change in luck myself. Althoug, 2013 was by far the worst, so I guess things have, relatively speaking, been looking up since then.

I had unidentifiable intestinal issues 3-4 months ago. Trip to emergency room and several weeks of testing did not identify the cause of my issues. Found the results (entirely, and massively, inflamed from my esophagus down to my nether regions), but no cause discovered. If you went thru even half of what I went thru pain and symptom wise, then yeah, I can see how that would suck - so best it not be repeated!

Glad to see your saving all that money by burning pellet's over oil...good job!!

I have to watch my diet bogie, no gluten products, it whacks me like a heart attack coming on plus intestinal pressure. I have two daughters with full blow Celiac, one goes catatonic, the other bleeds out her rectum from wheat/gluten products. Except the cardiologist says no, wrong area for the pain, wrong radiation of the pain in terms of direction and he has run multi tests to prove its not heart related. They found nothing in me either , overnight tests etc. But there is that celiac in my family so I took a whack at the gluten free diet well prior to this particular incident ( been about two years now, no wheat, no gluten , no alcohol). So I must have gotten whacked with one of those products I guess. in me gluten can cause anything from constipation to diarrhea and a state of feeling like like I'm witnessing a dream instead of real life and those chest pains ( yes all from gluten !!). Anyway, my neurologist said no need for more testing, in 10% of gluten sensitive people the test doesn't show it anyway. Just stay on the diet, and I have. 2015 was just one thing after the other, tests of faith I think.

There is always a silver lining when you pass tests of faith. I gained huge strides in my piano music, even burned a CD of music as gifts for Christmas, same music I recorded for my daughters wedding back in Aug.. So all was not bad about 2015 !

Buying some pellets today, will fire the stove back up later this afternoon, be nice with the tree still up in the living room.

I don't count bags. I have burned 1 1/3 tons though roughly. Way less than last years Great Freeze Out. I am heating solely with the one P68 still. I have electric central HVAC so you all know why I'm humping pellets. It also has not been nearly cold enough to mess with wood.

Oil looks great about now but not here. I am running about dead nuts with Vinny at a sweat shop temp here to keep the witches trap shut. LOL! Wife has a great sense of humor and easy going. Funnier and more laid back when she's kept at 75 broom riding degrees! I like 70* Plenty warm.

REPEAT AFTER ME ....... I am NOT getting old. I am just living longer.

I say that right after popping various things don't work like they used to medications.
