I have found a great deal on pellet insert. However, the diagrams I found on the web indicate my existing fire box may be too small. The recommended opening is 32" and I only have 28". It seem the burn unit itself will fit, but the control box, which seems to be several inches deep, will not make my opening. I have the thought of making an "flange" out of steel angle to extend my opening and accomadate the unit. Does this seem feasible, or is it unsafe/unadvised? All the adittional work will probably burn up the money I might save.
Thanks for any advice
