We have gotten a Timberline wood stove insert and are in the process of installing it into our fireplace. We have a few general questions/ concerns about installing it and would love any advice and tips anyone could give us. There is an 8" flue collar at the top of the woodstove, do we have to have an 8" liner or are we able to get a reducer to get it down to 6". Also, most examples we have seen of the stove have it outside of a fireplace. Is there any reason why we should not put it inside a brick fireplace? We have gotten the chimney inspected and were told we would have to put in a new liner that goes to the top of the chimney. Thanks again for any help and advice.
