I've seen folks mention using a timer to remind ones self about shutting down the stove. As I have a young toddler, I find myself easily distracted. Anybody have a small timer to recommend to carry in your pocket? Spose a kitchen one by the stove would work, but would like something that can be shut of quickly if the baby is napping- usually someone had already found the perfect thing here.....

How about a wrist watch? I don't often wear a watch so we use a kitchen timer we got at the dollar store. It has a magnet on the back and a belt clip.

Do a search on digital kitchen timer. They are about 2"x3", flat and fit into the pocket easily. Many of them only chirp for about 10-15 seconds. I prefer the type that have a loud, persistent alarm that keeps going until you shut it off. It's too easy to get involved or distracted when the timer goes off. If it doesn't keep chirping, then I might forget about it and get involved in something else. Now where did I put those keys... ?

Most cell phones have a timer as well.

I use the microwave timer.

I just bought a small wind up timer from Ikea. Which just went off. Gotta go!

What you need is a quadra fire. My has a built in timer for 20 min. You just open up the damper and it will slowly close back down over a 20 min. time. So far I love it, I don't know how long it will work. I hate to many accessory's because some thing always goes wrong on them.
