After all the expense I have swallowed in the last few weeks with the stove and the chimney etc...40 bucks for a thermometer doesn't even hit my radar at the moment.
Anyone know where to sell a kidney?

Yup. 10% on a stove top measurement using an inexpensive bi-metal coil thermometer is reasonable to me. Accuracy costs money.

1. Place the thermo on the door
2. What brand assuming NOT a stovetop model.

I suffer from the same engineering affliction - which is why I coughed up for the Tel Tru and the cheapo, and then spent the time flipping them around on the stove.
