TOO HOT!

I am using a PH35ps pellet stove and I want to use the built in thermostat to control the room temperature. When I turn down that control to it's lowest setting, the room stays at 68 degrees. I emailed tech support and they were no help. When I asked them if I could plug in the power plug into a heat controlled switch, they told me that they could not help me with anything that was not in the manual.
Does anyone have one of these? Are you getting the same results?

Sorry, the pellet stove is made by Pleasant Hearth. Actually that is GHP Group.
