Travis Industries NexGen-Fyre Wood Burning Insert Surround Panel

Hello! I have a (broken link removed to https://www.fireplacex.com/product/medium-flush-wood-nexgen-fyre-arch/) and am wondering how to remove the surround panel to clean/paint around the insert. The installation manual (pg 15) makes it look like the surround panel has some tabs that are hooked into the insert. I removed the face and tried tapping the surround panel from the bottom with a mallet but it doesn't budge. Anyone know of any tricks to remove the surround panel? Thanks!

Have you tried calling the dealer? They may be able to tell you over the phone.

Rubber mallet along the top inside edges. It needs to go up to get it out. Alternate back and forth.
