Not birch.
Looks like some type of buckeye (Aesculus), probably not horsechestnut as this one has has sticky buds.
For Aesculus
Branching habit is opposite.
Twigs have nasty bitter, odor when broken.
Leaves are palmately compound.
 
It's almost fibrous. Tears as much as cuts when the chainsaw goes through its not clean faces.

Definitely not yellow birch.
