Log splitter lost pressure on the first log of the day. Looked under splitter and saw that the spider bushing was worn and the coupler not attached. I ordered new spider bushing should be here in a week but dont know what its supposed to look like after I install it. Should it look like this?

Yes, it should look something like that. The alignment is very important for longevity and smooth operation. I have used a hose clamp around the center to keep things aligned during installation.

Neat trick. I'll be using that one in a week or so.

After you build a few splitters by hand you learn little tricks to keep the picky parts aligned. The lovejoy connection is probably the MOST picky and proper alignment is pretty important.

Had it for 2 years so i would say about 8 or 9

That sounds like some pretty heavy wear for a spider to go in two years. I have 40+ cords (full) and am just noticing a bit of wear on the spider.

Again - make sure of proper alignment.

Hey Hey I have had my 27 ton troy for 5 years and have split 437 cords with it. (yes I do sell firewood). And have just now had the first thing go wrong with it. The spider bushing came apart. Not to bad. Awesome piece of equipment other than the auto kickout sucks and has since the first week.

Good to hear the 27T is holding up after 437 cord w/ the Trunnion mount cylinder. That setup always bothered me on this splitter.
