We're putting a DV gas fireplace in our basement. I really want something with a large viewing area, great flame, and that heats very well.

I think I've narrowed it down to two options, which I feel are both great. I'd just appreciate any opinions on the two and whether it would be worthwhile to spend the extra money on the more expensive option.

The two I'm considering are the Regency Bellevista B41XTCE and the Mendota FV46.

The Regency is quoted at $4500 installed and the Mendota at $6,000 installed.

I saw the Mendota on display and was wowed. Love the heat and the look. They didn't have the Regency on display. I've obviously looked at it online but wish I could see it in person.

I guess I'm leaning towards the Regency because it's 1500 less and seems to be a great unit. What do you think?
