It's my second year with a lopi cape cod insert and I finally got the stove do what it should be doing. I never had wood good enough to run it as hot as I should, I was getting secondary burns but they would go put after 20-30 minutes. Today I put some semi dry red oak and I finally got my stove tuning nice. Secondaries are strong with a air fully shot down. Didn't get the tubes glowing yet, not brave enough.

Dry wood rules. Don't worry about maximizing the secondary show. Lazier flames = longer burns.
