Hello. New poster hear. I bought a house built in 1951. There’s a fireplace the likes of which I haven’t seen before. Apparently it was blocked off by a previous owner. It’s 10” deep, 32” wide and 28” high and lined with refractory brick. It looks like a previous owner dressed it up with modern floor tiles. Any ideas. Some sort of Rumford? Thanks

I don't know if that's tall enough to be a Rumford. Perhaps it would have looked more normal without the tile?
