Updated Stove in Log Cabin

One other question, in lieu of the stove adapter piece, could I just use a T-piece as my stove adapter and get the benefit of a cleanout/inspection ? Or should it be installed farther up the chimney?

If the stovepipe is a good fit to the flue collar then an adapter is not necessary. There isn't one on our stove either. I just drilled new holes. If I was going to add anything it might be a 6" key damper section.
