UPS or generator?

Instead of using the 1.8 amps I rounded it up to 2 amps...thats 240 watts/va

figure about 70% efficiency for the ups.

240/12Volts = 20 Amps /.7 eff gets about a 28 amp draw on the batts

155 Ah /28 amps is about 5.5 hours

Forgot....It has batteries built into it also?

I had a power outage of approx. 12hours and my battery backup worked flawlessly. I was going out of town for a overnight trip and depended on my pellet stove for heat. Now try that with a generator! Yes, a auto generator would of done the same but the manual generator, no! Knowing the house is warm when I am at work is a big plus in the back of my mind. The generator is good when I am home and for extended outage.

Im trying to figure my cycle times now. Unless it's really cold I don't expect the stove to stay on. Maybe 50/50?
Another thought... I wonder how much a power factor correction device would cost for a small appliance like this stove? Power factor of .41 just sucks. I could REALLY increase the runtime of a battery with an improved power factor!

The run time with a decent deep charge battery would be at least a 1/2 day or more. I looked at built in transfer/charge/inverter units and decide against because of service. My previous one bite the bullet and was unserviceable. Using separate units, if one fails it could be replaced with another. I have no knowledge on the Triplite and cannot give feedback. I wouldn't worry to much on the power factor as long it stays running long enough to power up the gen.

Haha.... didn't do my shopping as well as I'd thought! The battery arrived, but the terminals are a different size than the terminal clamps I bought.
The fuse block arrived along with the fuses. Fuse block is ANL, the fuses are ANLm (mini). haha!
Ah well, it'll all work out.
Haven't fired up the generator yet. Been sick & grumpy the last few days. Better get my butt in gear since they only warrant for 30 days (it being a refurb unit).
