Would this UPS be a good backup for my pellet stove? I don't know much about these things. Our power does not go out very often, and has never been off for more than an hour or two since I have been here. How long would this UPS actually run the stove. It looks to me like eight hours or so at 500 watts, and a stove is under 500 watts after start up, correct? How often do the internal batteries need to generally be replaced. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

At 200 watts, that unit would run your stove for about 25 - 30 minutes

pretty sure that is 8.1 minutes at 500 watts. at 100 watts for your stove, it would likely last more than an hour.

At 100 watts, your looking at 50 minutes.

I'll guess 40 minutes or so. While this looks like an excellent pure sine wave UPS, it's not the most powerful for the buck. One of those 1500VA units might get you an hour. On sale, you probably can find an APC 1500VA unit for $150 to $200. That's just a guess, I haven't looked in quite a while.

If you want hours of runtime, you need to wire in bigger batteries.
