Dont know if you need to wrap the baffle board just lay it on top and lay a metal rod of some type on it to hold it down.

This would be my replacement of choice if we needed to.

Beautiful Stove, no offense meant to other members stoves but this looks like a piece of Art.

We are however happy with our Lopi Endeavor 2010.
 
There are many types of ceramic masonry stoves that use their mass for slow heat release. These are common in Europe and are called kachelofens or kakelovns depending on the country.

I Think Dick Hill incorporates some ceramic plates in the smoke path or his new masonary stove design (not his older gassifer) . I believe his theory is that having a hot body made out of ceramic in the gas stream will cause ignition of gases passing by it. Tom in Maine would know more details as he works with Dick.
