I see on WCAX news in Vermont, that there is a layoff going on at Vermont Castings and that they may have a shutdown till late spring.
Wife said " gee- you would think they would be busy". I told her that they would be more busy, if they wern't in some kind of bankrupcy.
 
Doesn't surprise me, everyone is laying off and nobody is buying nothing.
 
When I bought my Jotul in October I had to wait 3 weeks to get it because they were backed up.
 
Mfg are no longer as busy, stove buying season is over. It's bad out there
 
If they made a product worth buying they might not have these problems. When I was buying my stove 7 years ago all the VC stoves I looked at just seemed to be terrible quality. So instead I shipped my money to Norway.

I never like hearing about American industry going down the tubes, but VC just doesn't impress, IMO.
