When replacing the shoe refractory gasket on a Vermont Castings Dutchwest non-cat stove #2478,
should I glue the gasket to the shoe, or to the stove itself first? Does it make a difference? I dont want to tear it up when replacing it.

Glue it to the bottom of the shoe
