There is a common theme with the VC Radiance older style gas fireplace and people having a hard time finding the LP Brays injector for converting from NG to Propane. I thought I'd share what I came up with as a solution as it is working beautifully for me.

Firstly, spend the $7 and get the appropriate LP orifice for the pilot, not crucial but will keep the burn chamber from being over sooted by a pilot that is always burning.

Secondly, remove the Brays injector from the front of the burn box. It is a brass elbow fitting marked "Brays" on one side, and 82-900 on the other indicating that it is a natural gas fitting. You can no longer find the propane version of this part. So I made one.

Purchase a tip for an oxyacetylene cutting torch, verifying that it has smaller holes in it than the injector fitting that you removed from the fireplace.

Next, break out of drill out the ceramic inside of the Brays that has the holes in it, being careful not to damage the brass fitting itself. Take the acetylene torch too that you purchased and tap it from the larger side until the tip where the small holes are is secured into the Brays and won't come back out. Use a small saw or grinding wheel and carefully cut through the acetylene tip careful again not to damage the brass fitting. Once you've cut all the way through take very fine sandpaper and clean up the rough cut until flush and smooth with the end of the brass fitting. Reinstall and enjoy.

You may also want to buy the LP conversion for the hi -lo adjustment regulator but it doesn't appear to be necessary. I'll add pics of the process and I hope it helps some of you as this surely was a spaghetti noodle for me at first until I got creative and did it myself for less than $20 including the pilot orifice. Take care,
G
