Alexander, Me.
I think that this is a Vermont Castings Resolute Stove and I am looking forward to replacing the metal plates with high-heat glass windows. Can anyone confirm the model for me?

Looks like a Resolute III. Remove the metal plates and take then to a good quality glass shop. They will use them as a template to cut some pyroceram or neoceram glass replacements. Alternatively, the can be traced onto paper or cardboard to make templates that can be sent into a good online glass company like www.onedayglass.com.

Or buy directly. Woodmans sells the glass:

Thank you. That's what I figured, but I am a complete newb. If I decide to buy from Woodsman, will I need to get the glass clips and glass clip screws? I assume that they would replace the metal ones that hold in the plates.

And should I put in a gasket? What size? I put in gaskets all around last year, but not for the plates.

I think the metal clips are ok, but the glass will need a flat, perimeter gasket that wraps the edge all around. This not only seals the glass, it also cushions the clips area. The gasket usually has a self-adhesive side to make installing the glass with gasket easier. Call Woodmans and ask about this to verify and purchase both items.

Sounds good. Sounds like the gasket goes around the outside of the glass? In other words, fit the glass and then put the gasket on top of it?

Edit: put gasket on outside of glass if it's laying down, then fit the glass in the channel so that the gasket is facing inwards. Then it tighten clamps gently against the gasket.

LIke you said.

The gasket will be about 3/4" to 1" wide. It is adhered, centered to the outside rim of the glass. Don't overtighten the clip screws. The glass needs to float in the gasket. It expands/contracts at a different rate than the door frame.
