Vigilant 6" Exhaust??

Hi,
I recently purchased a 1977 Vigilant in good shape. However after reading manuals and posts it seems it was made with an 8" exhaust, whereas mine has a 6".

Has anyone seen a 6" exhaust made on these, or was this a previous owners modification??

I'd be concerned running it with a smaller exhaust than it was designed for!

I believe that stove should have an 8" oval exit, so yes, it appears the previous owner has modified that. You should be ok running it with the 6" as long as you don't plan on leaving the front doors open. Are you sure that piping isn't removable?
