I had a new thimble installed today. Any Idea on how long I should let the mortar set up before firing the stove up?

1 Installer said I could probably fire it up right but said to make sure to spray water on the mortar to keep it from drying out to fast. 2nd installer said it would be fine tomorrow.

I'm no expert, but if you have given it a couple of days to harden up I would guess it should be good to go.

How about 24 hours..

I'm lighting up Getting a freeze warning tonight. :-)

I understand the want, but can you live with the mortar failing inside your wall?

I'd give it 3 days to make sure it's as dry as possible.

Matt
