Hello all ingot laid off today soni will have time time to cut. I was walking my property looking for good targets I came across a few little ash in a spot in would like to clean up. There dead a look like they have been that way for a while but the have something growing out of them

Those are just branch sprouts that the dying tree shoots out in a last-ditch effort to survive. The wood may not be all that dry. Do you have a moisture meter? Test at room temp on a fresh re-split. In lieu of a meter, press a fresh split against your cheek or lips; If it feels cool, it's still wet.
 
Ok thank you. I have some good wood for this year but these needed to come down so I went to scope them out today and never noticed the shoots o a tree like that before.

This Mulberry blew over on my BL stack, still rooted, and shot a couple out of the trunk.

Definitely epicormic growth probably from EAB.
