Just bought my first wood stove. Its a used "Bridges Stove" (written on front of the stove) and has a blower on it. I know nothing about the stove. I did get a couple flue pipe pieces with it that are stamped 2005.

The ring on top the stove where the pipe is to be inserted is a weird size. It's measuring 7 1/4" I.D. Im using 6" pipe and I bought an adapter that goes to 7" but it's very loose inside the ring. It will not seat at all. Am I missing something? Should I wrap the 7" pipe with gasket and then use sealer to seal it up? thanks for any advice.

Welcome. If possible, post a couple of pictures of the stove's outside and inside. What is the ID of the flue collar?

Sorry, for some reason I read the original posting as OD. For a solution I started looking at increasers that are not pre-crimped. For example, the Durablack 6DBK-X7 6 to 7 in. I.D made by Duravent is 7 1/8" OD. You would need to crimp the 6" end to accept the female end of the stove pipe. Theoretically, that should provide a 1/16" gap to fill. Or, you could use 1/8" flat gasket tape on the 7" x 6" reducer.

Or, have a good metal shop fabricate the reducer with proper sizing to the 7.25" collar out of stainless steel.

Thanks. Just ordered some 1/8" inch gasket tape. I'll put that around then seal up. If that doesn't work I'll try the duravent.
