I discovered a 3" long crack in a weld on my Blaze King Princess at the end of burning season (March, 2023). I called my dealer who installed it and they came out last week to inspect it. The inspector said when he's seen this in the past Blaze King will send a new stove out because they don't recommend on-premise welding holding up to firebox temperatures. He also said the where the crack is the weld looked thin or not deep enough (sorry don't know welding terminology). You can see a difference in the weld where the crack occurred... it doesn't look as "full" as the rest of the weld.

The dealer just got back to me and said they contacted Blaze King and I am out of warranty by 2-3 months, so they can't do anything for me. My stove was installed February, 2018. I store my wood in a wood shed and it's always around 15% moisture. The catalyst is in good shape and I get an annual stove and chimney cleaning/inspection from the dealer. I'm not sure what else I can do as a responsible wood stove owner.

Is there anything you guys can recommend? I am 100% not satisfied with my dealers or Blaze King's response.

100% I'd reweld that onsite.

Grind it completely out, weld it with 7018 stick. Clean it up and repaint the area.

If you were my neighbour I'd fix that for a 12 pack, wouldn't take more than an hour.

@BKVP do you have a different opinion?

Well, I wish you were my neighbor. Heck, I'd give you a 30-pack!

That should be on-site repairable by a competent welder.

Easily repairable...that repair is childs play for a good welder..

Where does the door seal? Around that flange, or does the flange itself go into the door?

That rim presses in the gasket on the door
