Wet wood when I Get home

I was in a rush to leave the house today and I feel I should of brought more wood in the house. It was 50 and raining this morning in CT. All of my wood outside was damp, there was just too much moisture in the air with the snow melting and the rain. The 2 face cords on a covered porch were even damp. I wish I brought more in to dry the temp is going to drop like a stone tonight and I wont be home until 9 pm. I think i may be screwed, alot of the wood may freeze. Anyone else in the Northeast in this situation? I am considering buying biomass bricks on the way home.

Get as much of the wood as you can indoors tonight. Put it in plastic storage totes if necessary. If most of the moisture is surface it will dry off pretty quickly.

While it is likely to be unpleasant to deal with (especially if they freeze together), surface moisture should not cause much of a problem in terms of the burn. Starting may be more of a challenge if you don't have dry kindling etc, but once you are going it should evaporate rather quickly.

I used to have that problem fairly regularly when I stored my wood on the porch. I finally ended up increasing my indoor storage, and bypassing the deck. My main wood pile is under a tarp all winter and generally stays pretty dry and snow-free (now getting to it may require the shovel....).

start a fire with the best wood you have then put some under and around the stove it will dry out quick.

I purchased a 83 gallon deck box that holds enough wood for a couple of days. Its been working and wasn't that expensive. Think I picked it up at sams club for like 60.00
