This will be our first year with Accentra 52i. I've already neatly stacked my two tons of Hamers and Barefoots in the house, but I'm wondering what folks do with their leftover pallets. I'm sure folks repurpose them, or even make cool furniture out of them. I'm asking because my local township garbage guy won't take them! Thoughts?

My first year, I used them for compost bins. But since then, they've been piling up. I'm curious if others in the forum have any bright ideas.

Try posting them on your local swap & buy... most people pick them up for free as campfire wood or bases for a lean-to, etc...

I just cut up two pallets and will burn them in the outside fire pit.

If you have your pellet bags stacked on a concrete floor, you might consider cutting them down to the area you re-stack you pellet bags to keep them off the floor.

Or just search for Pallet project ideas

Break them down and burn in a fire pit.

If i set them off by the curb somebody usually comes around and snags them.

I give mine to my neighbors, just put out the word and I am sure there will be takers. You can also take them to a feed store, they will either use them or recycle/return them to their feed suppliers.

They're getting rare around here. I used to use them to stack wood on. The hardware store I used to get pallets from now burns them for heat. I'm sure people will pick them up.

There's many websites dedicated to pallet projects.

i'd be more concerned with only having 2 tons of pellets on hand for the season! Probably going to want at least 1 more, maybe 2 if you like it over 66 average

Yeah, we'll be getting more. Probably pick up another 2 in a few weeks.

In case you haven't heard the news, buy now if you can, because there's NOTHING here.

My pellet supplier takes them. They use it to heat their greenhouses. Sometimes I will chop them up for camp fire wood.

Lots of quantity available here.. Few brands though.

cut them up and use them to cook my lobsters in the outside fire pit......

In addition to my pellet stove, I have a wood burning insert. I stack cordwood on my old pallets.

I've made a playhouse, a 4 tap kegerator, a bed for my son, brew stand, pellet hopper, and numerous other things. Of course, I used more than the 5 pallets that my pellets arrived on haha.

Wood gets sacked on them, with three cords so far being supported. While that is already tied up, anything that accumulates get cut up and used for kindling and in the fire pit. An add in craigslist, or a sign saying free on a stack sitting near the road should do it. People are always looking for fre wood and kindling.

I wouldn't cook over them, as some of them can be soaked with some really rank oozage or crud.
