Winter storm watch for tomorrow morning, highs in the 30’s! Looks like I’ll be burning 24/7 for the next few days.
Woke up to 70* this morning. Gotta love WI weather!

We have an outside temp of 66.2 tonight, I'm not sure what temp the basement is but we're at 72 degrees up here.

Tomorrow AccuWeather has us with a high of 74 with a low of 54, saving on the pine with these temps, ain't that just fine!

Weather Channel calling for 8-12” of snow today! Local stations saying more like 2-6”. Highs in the 30’s so it’s going to be heavy and wet.

After a full load of Aspen in the stove last night the cabin temp is currently 77, a little too warm so not sure if I’ll reload later this morning or just let it burn out and relight later today.

We had a low of 63.5 this morning with a forecast high of 75, it'll be another day & night without heating with wood.

Slept with windows open last night!! Normally we’d be close to full time burning by now. This weather is so volatile lately. Dropping down to the 30s this weekend and then back up to the 70s next week.

We had 82 today... Kids are out T&T-ing now, and it's a nice 69 or so. (In fact a rare "red flag warning" here, because it has not rained in about a month or so and the leaves are falling - it's bone dry here.)

Last year I had my first fire November 1 (at 45 F and falling). Looking at the long term forecast it's been consistently indicating for 2 weeks now that I won't have a fire until November 25 or so. (I only start burning if it's likely to be under 40-45 F for 24 hrs or more.)
So minisplit it is until then.

Though I was tempted today to switch it back to cooling... No wind (so open windows didn't really help), 82, and a strong sun heating the home, but I was able to keep it at 76 inside without AC.

This is about the same time I started burning last year.

The east coast is seeing some exceptionally warm temps. I can remember growing up in NYS that we had first frost sometimes in early September. Halloween trick-or-treat was generally pretty cold. My sister down in NC is still seeing low 80s.

25 this morning with an inch of snow on the ground. 12 hour burn schedule going on.

We had 56.8 this morning, up here is still 72 so we won't have any fires until tonight when the temp should be around 33 .

Filled up the insert with oak, hickory and locust before heading into work. Will be burning 24/7 for the next week or so.

It's 42.8 with a forecast low of 33, I ran a small fire after supper that had the basement at 74 with the temps up here 70 & 71. I'll get another fire going around 10:30 tonight.

We had a low of 34.3 this morning, the temp in the basement this morning was 70, up here it was 68 & 69. We had two quick fires this morning that had the basement temp at 79 before I left for a funeral Mass. The temps up here are 70 & 71.

I'm still waking to spark one off this fall. Everything is cleaned and ready but the weather's been mid 70s with nights in the 50s.

It'll get here.

Supposed to dip down here in the hills to the high 20s for the next couple nights.
Just got the furnace fired up and have silver maple in it now with a couple ash splits.
