Did not have a fire this morning since it was low 40’s. Ran the mini splits to warm things up. Started the stove at 4:30 with punky oddballs. Got the stove up to 650STT. Going to 33 overnight so loaded just now with some large long split of cherry and maple. Had to put one diagonally across the top to fit. That will be it for the night.

Going to be chilly the next few nights! Nice nights for a fire!

Well not to be outdone by the likes of @MRD1985 and @Turbo89 i had to do a little spit shining myself before loading up with a mixed load of hardwoods and 2 pieces of spruce. Man the glass was bad, had to scrape it with a razor blade then spray with some clear flame. Looks good for the next hour or so anyways 🤓

27 with pine and aspen going. Going up to the mid 50's today and only down into the 40's overnight tonight, so might not have an overnight load. Last day expected over 40.

I managed to not smoke the left side with the e/w load last night, but had to char so long that there was virtually nothing left this morning and needed to cold start.

The stove just has residual coals and logs from the day. Not sure I’ll have much time to work out there tomorrow, so going to let it go out and just leave the heater set to 45.

Shop’s sitting close to 70 right now, CAT still
Around 460, I’m sure it’ll smolder out over night, but I doubt the heat will need to kick on much before late morning.

Mixed bag tonight. Big chunk of oak, big chunk of hickory, some ash and silver male. The oak is a big awkward knot, which is why the smaller piece of silver maple is angled the way it is. Curious to see how hot this will get…
Cold started the stove (about 100 degrees, 13+ hours since last fire). Could have maybe got it going with what was left, but this will be much faster and less Smokey.

Mid to upper 20s forecasted tonight

27 and frosty here this morning. 68 inside and had a good coal bed. Couple small sticks to kick the flame up and one stick of maple to take the edge off.

Supposed be 36 and sunny at 9am for our weekly golf game, but not sure about that with the temps. (walk 9 holes)

Few aspen splits to begin to take the chill off after this morning’s failed bird hunt. Gonna let this rip hot and fast. 33 out currently

Had plenty of coals from the big splits last night. Did not get as hot as I thought it would, maybe because of the size of the splits? Regardless, Silver maple and some ash for this morning. Some odd shaped pieces in this load.
