What kind of insert is this?!?

It looks like a regular face like you'd put on a fireplace....but it's got a firebox and looks to have a blower. I've just never seen anything like it with doors like that. Is this an antique insert or what?

I'm not thinking of buying it....just curious.

junk, probably built ca 1982.
 
I have cleaned some like this but with a bunch of tubes in the top but no box like that. It must be worth something, it's worth about $150, them paying you to haul it off I mean :lol:
 
It looks like a fancy grate heater. Probably better than burning an open firpelace but not by much.
