what make is my stove?

Hi,

Can anyone shine some light on what make the below stove is as it needs a new baffle plate and fire bricks. I knie Fire bricks aren't a problem, it is more the baffle plate.

There is one main door with glass and a small door underneath for the ashtray. Both doors have circular air vents and are closed with s side catch.The grate is fixed except for a circular section in the middle that moves when you pull the lever in and out. At the bottom of the stove under the ash tray there is a small lip/shelf. The stove its self is plain except for a little motif above the main door.

Just a hunch but that looks more like a coal stove with the grate in the bottom and the air supply through the ash dump. I would ask your question in this coal forum: http://nepacrossroads.com/

Cute little stove. Likely English or Irish made, but maybe not. It looks a bit like a Morso 1430 knockoff. Are there any foundry identifications cast into any parts?

The only markings found are on the ashtray door and on the circular vents. On the door there are as follows: RLA HA 82 (7K7) and on the circular vents: RLA 33.

I noticed what looks like an adapter to class A pipe coming right out of the stove. Was the plan to hook class A pipe right to the stove? If so, expect more advice soon!

This may have been the safest way to install the stove given it's previous location or chimney condition.

I cant think of a reason to do that. Im sure there is one if you mentioned it. I'm going on the assumption that if you don't have clearance to combustibles for a foot or so for singlewall/dw stove pipe, you wont have clearance for the stove. What are you thinking would require doing that BG?

Hard to say. We've seen folks install them here this way for a perceived safety benefit. Could be that it was a short deteriorated chimney and this is what the sweep had on the lorry to fix it. Who knows?

From what I heard, it leaves zero space for the heat to dissipate and could cause the inside wall of the class A to fail very close to the stove.
