We bought this 1988 home and have a Quadra Fire (name on glass) wood only fire place. I have attached some pictures in case any of you may identify it, as we cannot find a model label... Thanks so much for your time!
We sure don't want to just put wood and hope for the best.....

Just a guess but it looks like an early 2100. Is there a UL sticker on the back of the stove?

As long as there is no obvious cracks in metal, warped internal parts and tight door seal when shutting it should be good to go. But thats only the stove, the chimney is another concerning factor, a failed chimney is usually the cause of move woodstove related house fires, you should call a certified chimney sweep for an initial cleaning and inspection of the both the stove and chimney, if the guy starts saying you need to replace things, either have him / her provide pictures of the damage, or physically show you.
Door seal can be tested by you, take a dollar bill close it in the door and pull the dollar out, if it removes easily then the seal is bad, if there is resistance like any more pressure applied it feels like the bill will tare, then its good, test all over the door using that method.
Wood supply, burn dry wood, if you need to make a wood purchase (expensive this year) buy a moisture meter, test the wood before its dropped off by splitting a piece in half and inserting the moisture meter pins in the split face, as long as the weather is in the 50's or higher theres no need to test the piece at room temp.

It will need an inspection of the flue and liner to make sure all is safe and in good order. We can't do that over the internet. Other than that the stove looks in ok condition.
