We should probably replace some of the rope on our stove and I want to confirm the size of the rope before we run out and purchase some. Will we be using different rope for the combuster area vs the door? What about the "papery" (firebrick?) thing on the inside of the lid over the combuster? is that something that gets replaced? I don't think we've damaged it but it seems so fragile. Thanks for any tips!

Re the refractory, I replaced mine after several seasons only because I dropped it. The current one is 10 years old or so. As to tips, best one I can give is burn dry wood and, I put a SteelCat combustor in three years ago, very happy with it.
