HI folks,
I haven't been on hearth.com much these past couple months, but wanted to make sure everyone knew about the Wood Stove Design Challenge on the National Mall, Nov. 9 - 13. Its free, open to the public and we'd love to see you there. Its a pretty unique opportunity to nerd out with lots of other wood and pellet stove designers, testers, regulators, etc. Craig Issod was a big fan and many of you came to the first one in 2013. This one is bigger and better, with an even wider range of technology, a lot more testing crews, and more demo stoves. Saturday is a key day, with a demo of the full cordwood Integrated Duty Cycle test method - and lots of EPA folks coming to check that out. We are also testing a electrostatic precipitator (ESP) on a EPA certified wood stove, that we may convert to an uncertified stove, and see how much PM it an eliminate. Ben Myren and Mark Champion have been key to this over the years, and this year we want to give a special shout out to Olympia Chimney for donating enough pipe to install 13 stoves! And thanks to folks at CSIA, NFI, HPBA, BNL and our main funders, the DOE and NYSERDA. Let me know if anyone has questions. Lots more info here:
