Hello, I've been lurking on this forum for about 5 years now, and got lots of information over that time. I finally broke down and signed up tonight to ask a question thats been bothering me for the last year or two.

A few years back I bought three tons of Hamer Hot One's pellets. They burned so hot I could only use them on those freezing 10 degree or colder days. Obviously it took a while to get through them cause we don't have a whole lot of days under 10 degrees here. I am now down to my last bag, and have been looking for them but cannot find them cheaper than 325 dollars a ton. I only found 2 or three places in the area that sells them and 1 of them are sold out. I emailed Hamer where to get them cause my local dealer is sold out and they, wouldn't tell me where else to get them. Todd Hamer told me to wait till next year. I emailed him back and asked if I could get a few more dealer names here in PA so that I can price check and buy for next year, but heard nothing back.

I've been reading a lot of you guys are burning Hamer's, and I'm wondering what your paying and where your getting them?

Welcome!

I can't help you much other than I've seen people up in the north east paying higher prices for almost any brand of pellets. Hamers seem to get good reviews good luck and I am sure more will chime in and offer advice. Pellet brands and where to get them is a hot topic with many around here. Good luck!

I got a ton for $255 at creekside hearth and patio in Lewistown, PA back in September. This is my first year so I just got one to try. Last I heard thought they were selling by the bag.

Agway, Connellsville, Pa $239/ton back in July. Bought four tons.

Thats what I'm talking about 239 per ton!!! Connellsville is about 3.5 hours though.

Would you mind checking for me in April to see if they are selling them again for that price? Lewistown is less than an hour. Maybe an hour if I'm hauling 2 or 3 tons of pellets.
If you don't mind maybe I could PM you around late March early April to remind you?

Just call them when you are ready.

Ah sorry, I guess I didn't do it right, I meant to reply to you about great price, and also reply to Ryanscab50 about checking prices in spring at the store he went to. Your stores price is much better but Connellsville is like 3 hours from me. A little to far to go get pellets.

I would never drive 7 hours to save $15 per ton. You will have more than that in the price of
fuel and lunch.

Also Hoffman outdoor in Halifax and aes hearthplace in camp hill also sell them I think
Hoffman in Halifax is where I was getting them. They started selling for 325 a ton PRE BUY! So I'm guessing they are more now. On top of that, they only offer pre buy to customers who bought Harmen stoves from them in the past. After that they put the public pre buy out and like I said it's 325. Way to much.
I am going to check out AES in camphill also cause that's just a tad closer than Lewistown.

AES in Newville and Camp Hill out of stock.
For good, or just for the year? I'm talking about buying in spring. For next winter. I buy all my pellets ahead of time, I'm getting info to check prices for spring. Not this year. It's much cheaper to buy in spring. Just doing my homework now so I know who I gotta call and come late March early April when they put pre buy prices out.

Well, not sure. The creekside hearth and patio website says its out of Hamer pellets because of a break down in there equipment at the mill. So I assume they will be out til Hamers gets back up and running. Probably Spring............

I know Dewald & Lengle is a carrier of them, they're at 1444 Long Run Road, Friedensburg, PA. just outside Pine Grove

But I don't remember seeing any when I went by yesterday. My office is just up the street, might check myself tomorrow.

Please do! I live really close to Fridensburg, and if they are selling for cheaper that'll be worth the drive.

Richland Feed Store, Richlandtown, PA Hamer's Hot Ones currentlt $265 per ton. I paid $250 per ton in August(preseason pricing)

Forest Inn Masonry, Lehighton PA- I think I ordered my first ton in September and paid $265. I just got a ton from them in the last week of January and that was $290.

Thanks, I will def. check their price out in the spring too! My wife and I have friends that live 5 mins from Richland, so we make it to that area all the time. That might be more convenient! I'll keep in contact with them come spring.

I got 5 tons in Sept at the local Tru-Value for $239. Shortly after I got my last one they went to $269

Yeah I'm looking into the local ace and tru value stores after all you Marylander's replies. I found two stores really close to me that sell them. I just gotta wait till spring to see what they are going to price them at.

$300 / ton in Sep at Gasworks in Frazer (Chester co). Will try to do a spring or summer buy. If I can get them at $265 / ton or less that's all I'll burn (my favorite pellet after 5 seasons of many different brands). I burn 5-6 tons per year between two stoves. Would go to Mt. dew's dealer but just a bit too far, I fear, as transport costs will eat the savings.
